Bergerac.

A maze of streets and squares each more charming than each other. Raise the eyes to admire the half-timberings, the ogive windows, the doors worked. Above all, do not lose a bit of historical anecdotes: "when Catherine de Medici came, the fountains of the rue des Fontaines spat wine to awaken the ardor of Catholics! ".
Further on, place Pélissière, and the statue of Cyrno.

Before going to dinner, take a tour of the markets, just to start salivating in front of farm poultry stalls, ducks, and these strawberries, melons, chestnuts, just harvested walnuts ... And the truffle, as soon as winter has come.

Then get table on a terrace or in front of a good fire and enjoy simple but irreplaceable pleasures such as tasting goose foie gras on a slice of grilled country bread, and accompanied by a glass of Monbazillac .

Castillonnès

Our nearest town 5Km from the chateau. Overlooking the hills of Haut-Agenais, the Bastide de Castillonnès was founded in 1259 by Alphonse de Poitiers in conjunction with the Cadouin Abbey. It marries the rocky outcrop on which it is built, backed by the old Castillon castle. Its structure is remarkably homogeneous with points of interest such as pontets (covered walkways between two houses), and a 20th century hall with a bell tower in the shape of a watchtower in pepper shaker style "troubadour".
The Bastide has many food and service shops, you will find bakeries, pastry shops, a chocolate factory, a delicatessen, an Intermarché, restaurants, hairdressers, beauty salons, dry cleaning, tobacco press shops, a grooming salon, florists and a jewellery store.
But also two doctors, a pharmacy, a nursing practice, physiotherapists and a dental practice. The market is on Tuesdays.

Issigeac,
On the borders of the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne, is a medieval town which stands out in the midst of all the neighbouring bastides.
In the heart of its old circular enclosure where the alleys wind up like a snail, Its a village of character where the alleys resuscitate the past. A village rich in history and architecture where artists and craftsmen have taken up residence.
The Sunday market in Issigeac is a must. It's reputation is well established. A small local affair in winter, it takes on a whole new dimension in summer to almost entirely occupys the entire village. It is an important event in the south of the department. You will certainly find pleasure there.

Lauzun

Lauzun is located about 9Km from the chateau our second closest town.
Originally, it was a hill cleared by the Gallo-Romans and the Gauls cultivated crops carefully where every autumn it attracted quantities of larks, and the locals called it "the hill of larks." These words were processed during the barbarian invasions in "Laus", "lausum" and finally "lauzun.
To protect the valley, the Romans settled on top of this hill, it served as a basis for the first castle, From the 12th century, castle became a fortress with tower, walls and drawbridge. Then changes occurred in the 15th, and 16th when the castle was transformed into a more comfortable stately home. The Castle is open to visitors from July 11th to August 23rd, from 12:00 to 18:00 and is also opened two more days during the French "Journées du Patrimoine", the 19th and 20th of September from 14:00 to 18:00.
There is a traditional market in Lauzun, every Saturday morning, also a small number of shops. During the summer, music concerts are held below the castle walls on Friday evenings.
